New PA Law Requires Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Post by msutton89 »

The Pennsylvania Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standards Act was signed into law on December 18, 2013. For rental properties, the law imposes specific responsibilities on both the property owner and the tenant for compliance. A copy of the law is attached to this announcement.

The Housing Authority will begin checking for carbon monoxide alarms/detectors as part of the Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections beginning July 1, 2015.
