As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have a global and local impact, the Housing Authority has shifted its focus to the health and safety of its employees; its housing program participants, residents and applicants; its housing communities; and our local communities in general.

In order to comply with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines released to keep us all safe and help stop the spread of the virus, the Housing Authority has taken the following measures until further notice:

- All office areas are restricted to employees only;
- Employees will only communicate via telephone, email, USPS mail, or fax with clients;
- Residents are to deposit rent payments and other correspondence in the drop boxes located in each high rise or mail it to the property manager;
- All general correspondence or application documents may be dropped off at or mailed to the Administration Office;
- All leasing of units has been suspended;
- All unit inspections have been suspended;
- Only emergency work orders will be addressed - all non-emergency work orders will be held and completed according to date and time requested when it is safe to do so;
- All Public Housing certifications have been suspended - except residents who experience a loss of income due to the impact of COVID-10 on their employer's business;
- All community areas and restrooms have been closed (mailboxes and laundry facilities are still accessible);
- All modernization projects have been suspended;
- Access to high rise buildings has been restricted to Housing Authority employees, essential contractors, emergency personnel, caregivers, and delivery of essential items - visitors are prohibited except for
welfare checks on a loved one; and,
- A modified work schedule has been implemented for employees in order to reduce the number of employees working at thesame time to achieve the recommended social distancing.
